In the fifth edition of the Valor Inovação Brasil award, Aegea Saneamento was elected the second most innovative company in the Infrastructure category, which includes other sectors besides sanitation. In the general ranking, the company took the 59th position among the 150 most innovative companies in the country. This is the best result of the company, which rose 38 positions compared to 2018, when it was in 97th place.
The companies’ innovation assessment, carried out by Valor Econômico and Strategy &, PwC’s strategic consultancy, considers five dimensions: strategic intention to innovate; the effort and resources allocated; the results achieved; the citations between the participants themselves and the patents published in the respective year. In addition, it analyzes how the company connects different businesses to projects and promotes network actions.
Aegea created its efficiency and technology management, responsible for all the company’s innovation initiatives in 2015. The president of Aegea, Hamilton Amadeo, highlights that the innovations in the company make it possible to take actions in a shorter period, reduce costs by around 50 % and bring more security to employees. All of these aspects guarantee quality service to the population served by the Aegea Group’s concessionaires.
