A subsidiary of the Equipav Group, Aegea Saneamento launches its activities, in 2010, with two full concessions: Águas Guariroba (MS) and Prolagos (RJ).

We incorporate in our conduct the transparency procedures of publicly traded corporations. The two concessionaires of the group are assessed by credit rating agencies and receive from Fitch an upgrade in its rating from BBB+ to A on the national scale.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) acquires a stake in the Company. In the same year, we implement a code of ethics and a whistleblowing channel.

The year was marked by the sovereign fund of the Singapore government (Government Singapore Investment Corporation – GIC) becoming an investor in our Company. The Global Infrastructure Fund (GIF) also becomes a shareholder in the Company.

The company also inaugurates the Aegea Administrative Center (CAA) in Santa Bárbara d’Oeste, São Paulo and creates a Sanitation Systems Management (GSS) to expand Aegea’s expertise to all locations nationwide.

Aegea and its concessionaires, Prolagos and Águas Guariroba, register with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Brazil (CVM) and go public in the B category.

The company creates the Aegea Academy, an education and training platform for developing our employees, and the Internal Audit area to assure even greater transparency in business relations.

With the creation of the Efficiency & Technology area, Aegea draws on professionals dedicated to reducing losses.

In five years of operations, we attain a presence in 43 municipalities, serving 3.5 million people, with a total of 2,238 employees.

We adhere to the United Nations Global Compact and create two areas: Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Management & Control of Losses.

In our concessionaires, we begin to adopt the first telemetry systems and Operational Control Centers (CCO).

We implement initiatives to improve compliance processes, which include revising and expanding our Code of Conduct and adopting policies that reinforce the company’s commitment to integrity.

The Corporate Social Responsibility area is created to act as a catalyst in the development of Aegea’s local communities, and a diversity program (Respeito dá o Tom) is implemented to improve racial equality.

The Interage program also is implemented to standardize procedures for environmental protection policies, occupational safety and healthier and safer workplaces.

Already enjoying broad access to local capital markets after placing a bond issue, we tap the international market with a bond issue that attracts high demand from investors. The placement further diversifies our funding sources and expands our relations with international investors.

Migration of the energy consumption of the first water treatment plant (Guariroba), located in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, to the free energy market.

A new brand is created drawing on Aegea’s purpose to bring health and quality of life to its public, reinforcing the positioning and identity of the entire company.

We obtain NBR ISO 37001, a standard that certifies the effectiveness of our anti-bribery practices.

We separate the offices of Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board to ensure the independence of the latter.

We implement the Intelligent Infrastructure project, which takes us to a new level in asset management.

The Aegea Academy implements a new platform for distance education that integrates on-site and online training, which achieves a new record for the company of 100 hours/person in training programs.

We create the Audit, Risks & Internal Controls department, and the Integrity area is transformed into a department, reporting directly to the Board of Directors, which now comprises only independent members.

The investment cycle of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the equity investment fund IFC GIF Brasil comes to an end.

We launch our first digital twin. Without having to leave Santa Bárbara d’Oeste São Paulo, the multidisciplinary technical committee of the Intelligent Infrastructure project visits a virtual replica of the Bela Vista Sewage Treatment Plant in the Mirante district of Piracicaba, São Paulo.

Aegea joins the World Water Innovation Fund (WWIF), a group of companies from around the world that invests in innovation and exchanging knowledge.

Aegea Saneamento completes one decade of history, employing 4,500 people and offering high-quality basic sanitation service to over 8.9 million people in 57 Brazilian municipalities.
